This is a delightful, if tiny (5x4 inches) gift to Mathilda from her school 'mistris' in 1859. The bible is in reasonable state, but one flyleaf is loose. She lived in Nantwich in Cheshire, whee she was a house servant in 1861 and married in 1864. The front inside has her name and address, and the record of the gift on the next page. There are some unclear words written inside the rear cover. If this is your family it is a tiny delight.
