This is a traditional family bible, with family entries in the front flyleaves for the children of William Hammond and his wife, Mary Ann. William came from Binstead in Essex, married Mary Ann from Huntingdon, and by 1861 he was the landlord of the Bull public house in Brampton, Huntingdonshire. (Not sure if this is what is now the Black Bull). A lot of children's births are written in. The bible is in solid condition though the cover of the spine has become loose and flaps about. For the right family this is a wonderful record.
