This is a wonderful old bible, dating from 1817. It was presented to Warrand Carlile on his marriage to Agnes Irving in 1820, by his brother James Carlile. There are over two pages of finely written old copperplate entries for their family. As Rev Warrand Carlile he spent nearly 40 years in Jamaica and the pages are foxed, with a contunuing register of entries, and I am sure this bible went with the family. Later entries are in England. The bible is complete, though the binding is very worn. This is a real treasure, old, with a distinctive family history, and a genuine family heirloom. Postage will be about £7.50 in addition to the purchase price, for a UK sale. Please ask for a quote for overseas postage.
